This qualification is designed for learners who want to continue their education and develop their competencies and understanding of their role as a specialist in general construction contracting operations management. It enables learners to demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge, and understanding, and to prove their competence in a real workplace environment.

The qualification validates the skills and experience gained during a managerial career in the construction industry, supporting the learner to attain enabling, fundamental, and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. On completion of this qualification, learners will have demonstrated the competence to progress on to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area, or enable entry into advanced supervisory and senior management positions within the workplace.
